Village Receives Donation from Kiwanis for New Christmas Tree

Union Grove Village President Mike Aimone announced on August 26, 2019 the receipt of a $1,500 donation from the Kiwanis Club of Union Grove to replace the Christmas tree in Village Square Park on Main St. The donation will be used to be purchase a new pine tree to serve as the ceremonial Christmas tree for the annual “Christmas Comes to Union Grove” tree lighting ceremony in November. The existing tree, which is diseased, is expected to be removed soon and the new tree will be planted in September.

“On behalf of the Union Grove Village Board and the residents of Union Grove, we appreciate the Kiwanis’ gracious donation for the new tree,” said Village President Mike Aimone. “We look forward to it serving as the centerpiece for the Christmas Tree lighting ceremony for many years to come.”

“Christmas Comes to Union Grove” is organized by the Greater Union Grove Area Chamber of Commerce. The popular event includes the Christmas tree lighting ceremony and an appearance by Mr. and Mrs. Claus.
