T-BALL, COACH PITCH, FASTPITCH SOFTBALL Registration begins February  through February.  A $10.00 late fee will be charged for registrations received Monday, February   through Monday, February  .Beginning March  , wait lists will be started.

  • Tee Ball – The T-Ball program is designed for children 4-5 years of age. They are taught the fundamentals of baseball and good sportsmanship while underplaying the importance of winning. Games are played on Tuesdays & Thursdays at 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. at various Union Grove Fields.  T-ball for 4 and 5 year olds will practice the month of May and have 6 games in June.  Cost is $50.00.
  • Coach Pitch – Coach Pitch is for 6-7 years old. The children are taught the fundamentals of baseball and softball.  Coaches will pitch 5 pitches and if the ball isn’t hit, a tee will be used.  Coach Pitch will also be playing “outs” this summer, teaching the kids the fundamentals of throwing to the correct base as well as teaching the players if they are out, they return to the dugout.  Games are played on Mondays & Wednesdays at 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. at various Union Grove Fields.  Coach Pitch will start practice the end of April depending on weather.  Games will start the end of May through the end of June, 9 games.              Cost is $65.00.
  • Girls Pinto, Junior, and Senior Fastpitch Softball – This program is for girls between the ages of 8 – 10 – Pinto, 11-12 – Junior and 13 – 15 – Senior. This program is associated with the Racine County Softball League. Practices begin late April, with games starting in late May. There is some traveling involved with games being played in Raymond, Caledonia, Sturtevant and Wind Lake.  There is also a league tournament and an all-star game to highlight the season.  Cost for each division is $65.00.

 

YOUTH BASKETBALL – SIGN-UP – OCTOBER 1 through November 1

Kindergarten Division – This is   a program designed to introduce boys and girls in Kindergarten, the   fundamentals of basketball. Eight foot baskets are used so proper shooting techniques can be taught. Games are played on half a court, three on three teams.  All games are played in the Union Grove area on Saturdays.

1st and 2nd grade (co-ed) – Eight foot baskets are used so proper shooting techniques can be taught.  Five on five teams, games are played in the Union Grove area on Saturdays.

3rd and 4th Boys/3rd and 4th Girls – league play for the girls in boys in third and fourth grade.  This league is officiated and game scores kept.  Games are played on Saturdays.

5th and 6th Boys/5th and 6th Girls   league play for girls and boys in fifth and sixth grade.  This league is officiated and game scores kept.  Games are played on Saturday’s.

7th and 8th Boys/7th and 8th Girls  league play for the girls and boys in seventh through eighth grade.    This league is officiated and game scores kept. Games are played on Saturday’s.

 

CLASSES & SEMINARS

Walking program – This program is   offered through the High School. Adults may walk the halls between the hours   of 5:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. There is no charge for   this program. All participants must sign-up at the Village Hall, between the   hours of 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Community Room – There is numerous classes and seminars in this room thru out the year.

PLEASE WATCH Cable   Channel 25 and your local newspapers for other opportunities offered by the   Village of Union Grove Recreation Department.    We do send registration forms home with all of the students in the   local schools also.
