Parks & Recreation Survey

We are seeking input from residents of Union Grove and the surrounding community on the Village’s parks system! One survey response per household, please. The deadline to complete the survey is June 15, 2021. A hard copy of the survey is available in the June 2021 edition of the Village Voice newsletter mailed to Union Grove properties. An online version of the survey is also available – click here to take the online Parks & Recreation Survey now!

Project Background

The Village of Union Grove is developing a Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan (CORP) in 2021! The plan will serve as an update to the Village’s 2003 Park and Open Space Plan. It will take a full inventory and assessment of current park and recreation assets, obtain public input and develop recommendations and a future capital improvement schedule for the parks. CORPs follow Wisconsin Chapter NR 50, Administration of Outdoor Recreation Programs Grants and State Aids.

The adoption of a CORP is a prerequisite for participation in the state’s Outdoor Recreation Grant programs and a required component of federal applications for parks and recreation grant funding. The Village of Union Grove CORP would be constructed consistent with NR 50. Once adopted, a CORP must be updated every five years. The Village is working with Jeffrey Sanders of Community Planning & Consulting to help develop the CORP. This webpage ( will be updated as the project progresses.

Public Participation

Park & Recreation Survey – Community members will be invited to respond to a survey regarding current park uses and preferences for future amenities and improvements. A hard copy version of the survey will be included in the Village Voice newsletter which will be mailed out to all residents by June 1, 2021. An online version of the survey will also be posted to this webpage at that time. One survey response per household, please. The survey deadline will be June 15, 2021.

Community Engagement Session – The formal planning process will begin with a Community Engagement Session. The purpose of the session is to inform participants of the CORP process, describe existing parks and recreation assets in the community, present Village (and statewide) demographic trends that will guide the CORP planning effort, summarize the results of the park and recreation survey, and identify the recreation amenities desired by residents. The Community Engagement Session will take place in the early evening of August 19, 2021. The exact meeting time and location will be posted on this page on a later date.
